Tranquil Townhouse Garden Design Plan

This plan is for the typical backyard of a townhouse in the city.  The backyard is 20 feet wide by 25 feet long.  This backyard has two main purposes - relaxing and entertaining. 

The patio area and gazebo are perfect areas to entertain guests, while the flower beds and water fountain make the garden relaxing and stress free.  Stepping stones leading from the patio to the gazebo and then to the bench.  The wandering path of the stepping stones contribute to the tranquil feeling of the garden.

Different Types of Water Fountains

Listening to the trickling of water from a fountain is very relaxing.  There are many different styles, shapes and sizes to choose from.  Here's a brief list of the different types:

• Wall Fountain These fountains are great because they don't take up a lot of room, yet they still make a dramatic statement.
• Bird Bath Fountain Not just a bird bath, these fountains allow the water to trickle down and are fun for the birds.  Since the water is constantly flowing, there is no risk of the fountain becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
• Floating Solar Fountains Are a perfect way to add a jet of water in a pond.  Since they are solar powered, you don't have to worry about plugging the fountain in.
• Ground Fountains Decorative and functional!  Many different styles to choose from, so be sure to look around until you find the perfect one.
