Located in Vancouver, BC, the entrance to the VanDusen Botanical Garden can be found at the intersection of Oak Street and West 37th Avenue. Paid admission. Outdoors with an indoor garden shop and cafe. The outdoor gardens cover 55 acres and feature three different walking routes.
Special features of the VanDusen Botanical Garden include seven specialty gardens, an Elizabethan Maze and an international sculpture collection placed throughout the gardens. You will also find over 60 different varieties of birds and plants from all over the world.
My personal impression of the VanDusen Botanical Garden was one of breathtaking landscapes. If you love nature, you'll love the VanDusen Botanical Garden. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and take your time to absorb the scenery. The trails are wide, smooth and relatively flat making it very easy to walk around. The Elizabethan Maze was fun to walk around in and worth taking the time to get to. Finally, make sure to take a look in Livingstone Lake for the large carp swimming around.
