Here is a few pictures of the glass sculptures created by American artist Dale Chihuly. These are currently on display at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Much of Chihuly's inspiration comes from his mother's garden, along with his love of the ocean and its creatures. He is well known for his use of intense colours and combining several pieces of blown glass into one sculpture.
When I went to visit Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden, the original exhibit by artist Dale Chihuly was no longer on display. At that time, there was a new exhibit on chocolate. But as I made my way through the conservatory, I kept seeing all these fantastic glass sculptures - the remnants of his exhibit. I didn't know why they were there or that they had been created by Dale Chihuly. In fact, I had no idea who Dale Chihuly was. All I knew is that I was quite taken with the glass sculptures and vowed to learn more about them.
I love the way the sculptures have been added in the gardens, as if they are simply an extension of the garden. It is inspiring to see how art and nature can be combined together so beautifully and naturally.
