The entrance is off of Via Corsini with the gardens situated between Gianicolo (Janiculum) hill and the Tiber River. The gardens feature old fountains, ponds, staircases and over 3,500 plants.

My personal impression of Rome's Botanical Gardens was one of peace and quiet. It was so relaxing and a nice change of pace from the busy streets of Rome. With no one to bother you, you can stroll along the paved and gravel paths and take in the beautiful scenery at your own pace. My favourite part of the whole garden was the Monumental Staircase, which was a very impressive sight to see. It was built in 1732 by the Italian architect Ferdinando Fuga, who lived from 1699-1781.
