Botanical Gardens - Rome
Follow the stairs up to the rose garden, pictured here in the fall. This collection of roses demonstrates the evolution of ornamental roses from the process of selection and hybridisation. Most of the roses grown here are from species that were cultivated in Rome during the 17th and 18th century, when this garden was first established.
