Spaghetti all’Aglio e Olio (Spaghetti with Garlic and Oil) Recipe

250 grams spaghetti
½ bunch of broccoli
1/3 cup of olive oil
1 ½ large cloves of garlic, crushed
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Crushed red pepper, to taste

Steam broccoli for 20 minutes. While the broccoli is being steamed, cook spaghetti in plenty of boiling, salted water, with a dash of olive oil.

In a separate pot, heat olive oil with cloves of garlic, but do not let the garlic brown. Warm olive oil gently to release the flavour of the garlic. When the garlic is ready, remove it from the olive oil.

Once the spaghetti is cooked, partly drain it keeping some water behind (just enough to cover spaghetti). Add the heated olive oil, broccoli, salt, black pepper and crushed red pepper to the spaghetti and toss well. Serve immediately.
